Albert Elovitz is a wholesale "novelty gift" company. Stargate designed and built their first retail effort, albertsgifts.com, in time for the 2000 Christmas shopping season. Stargate reviewed Albert's current business processes and made recommendations to enable processing of both retail and wholesale orders. Stargate designed the architecture for the web site as well as identifying and coordinating management of over 5,000 product graphics and descriptions. Albertsgifts utilizes the Microsoft eCommerce toolset, MTS and Active Server Pages. Server side scripting was accomplished with VBScript and client side scripting with Javascript. Site Server Membership and Personalization was implemented for tracking account information. Microsoft Site Server commerce server was implemented for the shopping cart. Additionally, all orders are electronically populated into Albert's internal ERP system.

The site includes credit card validation, eCoupons, gift-wrapping, gift certificates, treasure chest (wish list) items, a weekly winner contest, cross selling and promotions.

Stargate hosts the site on a dedicated server in our Data Center.


	Van Dyk Business Systems - www.vandyk.net Stargate developed an eCommerce site for VDBS for their largest customer, the University of Pittsburgh, to re-order consumables associated with printer, copies and fax machines. The site also allows members of the University community to request service and follow-up information. A SQL Server database has been developed to manage data related to equipment (each piece of equipment has a unique identification number), models and accessories such that when a user identifies an equipment number, only the products that are applicable to that unit are offered for order. As different pieces of equipment have been sold under different contracts, the price for products is determined based on the contract type. A shopping cart has also been integrated into the site. The cart simply calculates a total and applies a 7% PA sales tax. Standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology was used to encrypt the information being transferred via this interface.

	The Grove Store - www.store.yahoo.com/grovecranes Grove, one of the largest manufacturers of hydraulic cranes, came to Stargate to market their scale models and promotional materials online. Knowing their target audience would be seeking collectibles, Stargate created an online catalog and marketed to that specific market segment.

	Apex Gift Foods - www.apexneidinger.com Apex Gift Foods already had a thriving wholesale business when they came to Stargate to strategize about taking their business on the web. After designing the site, Stargate helped coordinate their online marketing with their offline efforts. The net effect is consistently growing online sales and inquiries for printed versions of their catalog.

	NCS Envelope Service - www.envelopeservice.com National Church Supply in Chester WV has been supplying churches nationwide with offering and tithing envelopes for over 8 decades. Stargate designed a site that will provides NCS wholesale customers with self-service ordering and allows retail customers to buy envelopes and other stewardship resources. NCS utilizes the Microsoft eCommerce toolset, MTS and Active Server Pages. The site has two distinct areas. One area contains a number of wizard-like pages where members of the envelope service follow a series of steps to place an order for custom church envelopes with the help of an assistant. Due to the uniqueness of this business this site offers a unique user experience utilizing Active Server Pages. The order information captured through the various wizard pages is saved to both a SQL Server database as well as the legacy database, Databus. Server side scripting was accomplished with VBScript and JavaScript and client side scripting with JavaScript. The second area of the site is a standard shopping cart area developed using Site Server enabling NCS to sell some of their other products, such as music, books, bulletins, and gift/coin wrap. Site Server was also used for Personalization and Membership, which was implemented for tracking account information. There are two separate Shopping Carts, one for members of the Envelope Service and one for non-members.
